Project Scope

Taynton Bay is a craft distillery nestled into the tiny lake town of Invermere, BC. While their hometown may be small, the punch of their products definitely isn’t. With award-winning high-proof spirits, sparkly Lake-House Series Gins and Dragon’s Den selected vodka cocktails, their product lineup is taking the industry by storm, transforming ordinary cocktails into flavour adventures that their customers can’t get enough of.

The team at Taynton Bay came to us looking for a fresh look that told their unique story authentically and excitingly while also giving their products the visual prowess that the flavours deserve. Together, we built a brand kit that showcases a pursuit of adventure, the joy of making the most of every moment, and how their products Unlock the Wild Spirit in all of us.

Brand Kit

The brand icon is a physical representation of whimsical adventure, the joy of discovery, and a nod to the valleys and mountain-scapes surrounding the lakeside distilling facility.

Right side up, the critter is in motion, chasing that next adventure. Flip the critter, and a mountain valley landscape is revealed, showing the vast opportunity for adventure found all around us. Together, the mark provides a lovely balance of hand-drawn imperfection and satisfying symmetry.

Custom Type brings a deep level of elegance and sophistication, while still having a ton of personality & character.

Type & Colour

Colour tones are inspired by the vibrant colours found around the lakeside distilling facility, bringing an authentic and rich valley feel to every brand placement.

Typography is designed to provide a perfect balance of elegance, personality & playful spirit.

To give the brand typography an even more intentional feel and personality, we created a fully custom display typeface for headings and large statements. This brings an instantly recognizable look to all brand products, bottles & placements.

Telling the Story

Hand Drawn Illustrations, Badges & Seals flesh out the brand story in a tangible and playful way, making the brand fun and memorable to interact with.

“Wild Cocktail” illustrations provide a showcase of the adventures that Taynton Bay products are designed to accompany, while bringing the concept of “Wild Spirit” to life.

Wild Cocktails

The Wild Cocktail collection is a line of vodka infused teas -- ready to drink, or perfect for mixing. Inspired by the brand’s Wild Cocktail illustrations, these bottles come to life with delightful colour and playful personality.

Lakehouse Gins

The Lakehouse Gin series is a collection of premium gins infused with iridescent sparkle, making for gorgeous cocktails and a one-of-a-kind bottle experience.

The collection is designed to capture a lake-day sky at different times throughout the day. Featuring unique lakehouse illustrations on each bottle, this product line has won multiple design awards including a silver medal for best Gin bottle design and garnered attention across the spirit industry.
