In the Spawn On Me community, anything excellent, tasty, or worthy of celebration is cheekily referred to as a “biscuit," an homage to Spawn On Me’s founder, Kahlief Adams, and his love for Red Lobster Cheddar Bay biscuits. The team came to us looking to turn a Cheddar Bay biscuit into a trophy and physical award to give out to recipients - we obviously jumped at the opportunity.
Spawn On Me’s community is often lovingly referred to as “Brookago,” a term coined when its founders lived in Brooklyn and Chicago, respectively.
Here’s the pitch Kahlief gave us for where to start on the branding & motion for the show:
“Can we make our own Saturday morning cartoon!? Like an episode of Fat Albert come to life, but it’s me adventuring through Brookago and getting into crazy shenanigans!?”
Needless to say, we loved this idea, so we set to work bringing it to life.
Follow Kahlief across a video-game-style map of Brookago, touring through a suite of animated award bumpers referencing pop culture icons, the gaming industry as a whole, and having some good old-fashioned cartoon fun.
To give love to the devs, each award winner is given a spot in the show to chat about their game and their appreciation for the community that plays it.
